Aesthre stood and stared at the trinket. “But I was told I could call his aid…”
“When he sent you in here he meant for you not to return.”
Aesthre paused, thinking for a moment.
“If you’re done here then lets go back to the castle. The petitioners here attack on sight.” Krimsol got back in the flying machine. Aesthre stood and pondered the little amulet in his hands. Had the Spirit really left him here? He had always talked about how he and Arolas would rule together. Had he been lied to?
“Well?” Krimsol’s voice brought him away from his thoughts. Aesthre pocketed the amulet and jumped into the vehicle. It took off and sped back towards the castle. Aesthre looked at his left arm, the eye on the back of his hand staring back at him, with its strange pupil.
“Am I going to become like one of those fiends” Aesthre asked.
Krimsol paused a little. “No not quite. Your universe is structure differently than mine was. The two are not very compatible, so you won’t become like one of them completely.” Krimsol’s reply did nothing to aid Aesthre’s sorrowful mood. He stared off the ship at the trees and beasts below. They arrived at the castle and landed in the same court yard they came, Krimsol began talking.
“Aesthre, there’s something you need to learn, something about your world, about your master. He is not like you may think he is made out to be.” Krimsol looked right at him, but Aesthre was still looking away. “All I know is that he sent you here because he only needs of you, one soul for sustenance.”
Aesthre quickly turned to him. “What?”
“I’m not exactly sure what it means myself but I know where you can learn more about it.” Aesthre looked at him with mixed emotions of hate and horror. “The true prophecy lies to the east of here, in the swamps of Disillusion. There you will find a structure, a tower if you will, in the tower will be the scribe. He knows of the true prophecy better than I do and will tell you about it.”
Aesthre started to head off. “Hold on” Krimsol added “take this with you.” He handed Aesthre an ear piece. “You can contact me with this, just put it in your ear and press the button on it. And one more thing, if you see a massive fiend like a wurm, run. Run like you have never run before.” Krimsol pointed in the direction to go and Aesthre headed off.
This is the 18 part to my story. I think this may actually be the halfway point, but i'm not exactly sure.
