Aesthre stood for a moment speechless. “I-in the devourer?” he managed to stammer.
“Yes, inside it. If I had told you before you had encountered it you would have rushed to your doom. And even now there is no chance of you beating it.”
“But somehow I have to… for my brother.”
Krimsol let out a deep sigh. “Then you’re going to need two artifacts, both alone will grant you amazing power and together they will make you undefeatable.” They both stepped into the throne room and Krimsol sat down in his chair. “Screen on” a flat pane descended from the ceiling at his command. “Show the Mountain of Hatred.” The screen flashed and a dark mountain appeared on the screen. “The first artifact you will get is the divine sword named Vengeance. It was brought here by a Paladin of Justice who had done wrong with the blade. He placed it upon the mountain’s peak and stands guard over it.” Krimsol looked right at Aesthre. “You must scale the mountain, defeat him and retrieve the blade. To get there you must leave through the gate you left to get to the swamp but follow the follow the left canyon wall until you see the mountain, then just head straight for it.”
Aesthre and Krimsol stood looked at each other in silence for a moment, then Aesthre turned and started back outside. He followed the directions and soon the peak of the mountain was in the distance. It was so far away it looked like a distant thunderstorm. He hadn’t gotten much further when a familiar sound of rumbling was heard. A long ways off to his right was a grinding wheel powered by 4 staunch legs. Aesthre started to flee, but after a moment came to a realization. If he couldn’t kill one of these things then how could he expect to take down the Devourer? Aesthre changed his course right for it. Just before the two collided Aesthre rolled out of the way and swung his sword at its hind legs. The blade flew forth and struck true cutting both back legs. The beast roared in pain and slowed enough to allow Aesthre time to leap onto its back. Using his Spine as a hand hold he started to attack the bars that held the roller. His blade slowly wore down the first bar, letting the tumbler hang down awkwardly and then cut the second letting it drop completely. The roller fell and was forced aside by the beasts continuing charge. “Now what do I do?” thought Aesthre as he scanned the back of his wild mount for a weak spot, but found none. Aesthre looked up just in time to see a low outcropping on a collision course with him and leapt off. Aesthre landed safely as the beast tore through the rock, barely slowing and it wheeled around. Aesthre stood his ground as the massive beast charged him full speed. As they met he used his left hand to grab hold and tossed it to the ground at his side with all his might. His vision immediately focused on a spot just below the ribs where an eye, just like the one on his hand, was staring back at him. He launched his blade into it causing the beast to start writhing in pain and flail wildly, and then it went silent. “That wasn’t as hard as I thought it’d be.” He thought to himself. After taking a quick glance around him he started off towards the mountain again.
If you read the story "Fall of Justice" you'll know exactly who Krimsol talked about and what sword Aesthre is getting. However they are both a lot different from what that story had them as since about 1000 years has passed since then.
This is also the first time Aesthre has found the eye on an enemy. It'll appear more often now that he's seen it once.

This one turned out pretty good i think.
