DAJ: 24 Accursed Eyes
Aesthre stood for a moment speechless. I-in the devourer? he managed to stammer.
Yes, inside it. If I had told you before you had encountered it you would have rushed to your doom. And even now there is no chance of you beating it.
But somehow I have to for my brother.
Krimsol let out a deep sigh. Then youre going to need two artifacts, both alone will grant you amazing power and together they will make you undefeatable. They both stepped into the throne room and Krimsol sat down in his chair. Screen on a flat pane descended from the ceiling at his command. Show the Mountain of Hatred. The screen flashed and a dark mountain appeared on the screen. The first artifact you will get is the divine sword named Vengeance. It was brought here by a Paladin of Justice who had done wrong with the blade. He placed it upon the mountains peak and stands guard over it. Krimsol looked right at Aesthre
DAJ 23: Responsibility
Aesthre began to open the door again. The Devourer let out another massive howl that shook the building again.
You should use the other exit. The scribe pointed out. Aesthre looked across the room and found another exit, and moved to it. And read this before you go, itll help you get back. A skinny hand appeared next to Asethre with a scroll in it. He opened it and examined its contents. It didnt make any sense until he read the whole thing. He felt a little dizzy, and then the writing became clear. It explained to how walk on water and now he was capable of doing so. Aesthre dashed out the exit, which was pretty much just a tunnel with an inch of water on the floor that lead straight. It didnt take long to reach the other end and the exit lead up via stairs. He leapt out to find the tower was a ways behind him with the Devourer not to be seen, but its howling revealed it was still nearby. Aesthre looked around trying to find some kind of landm
DAJ: 22 The prophet
Aesthre turned to find the source of the sound, an old man sitting at a desk writing something. The room was small and lined with holes that all contained various scrolls and parchment. There was loud roar from outside and the tower started to shake.
I see youve met the devourer. The man said in his irritating voice without looking at him. And you got him nice and riled up too. What a nuisance, hell be bellowing for hours. There was another roar with more shaking sending a few scrolls tumbling out of theyre places. A couple of hands appeared from under the mans cloak on his backside and without even looking up from his work moved the scrolls off the floor back to their proper places. Well? Are you gonna say something? the old man looked at him with pale eyes and a disconcerted face.
Aesthre stood in a stupor for a moment and then collected himself. Are you the Scribe?
The old man turned back to what he was writing.
DAJ: 21 The Devourer
Aesthre had been moving through the swamp for quite a while now, but he still hadnt found any sign of the tower yet. Aesthre looked up at the treetops above him. Maybe he should move to higher ground? He leapt at the trunk of one tree and leapt off to another tree getting slightly higher. He reached the top and was astounded by what he saw. He could tell hed gone quite a long ways. The tops of the trees stretched for as far as he could see, behind him was Krimsols castle peaking above the trees. Up ahead of him was a tall, needle like tower that wasnt too far off.
Just before Asethre dashed forward along the tree tops the tree under him started to sway. He drew his word and looked down to see a number of huge disfigured limbs like arms grasping at the trunk, shaking it. More arms joined in, so many it seemed like there were infinite. There was a loud crack and Aesthre leapt to the next tree as the previous one fell. What ever this thing was, it was huge and powe
DAJ 20: Tactical but imprac...
Aesthre dodged around as the beast attempted to skewer him with its arms. Every time Aesthre attempted to land a blow it moved out of the way. Aesthre thought for a second. Maybe he could out run it, so he turned started to jump away from it. Just before he landed on the next set of roots one of its arms appeared where his foot was going to land. He quickly sunk the spine in his left arm into the tree while the beasts arm quickly retracted. He would have been in the water if he wasnt anchored to the tree.
Aesthre could hear the thing move to a new tree to stay within range of him. He leapt again forcing it to move again and as it did he launched his blade at it. The beast deflected it with its arms and landed without a scratch. Neither Aesthre nor it had been injured yet, but it had all the time in it wanted while Aesthre needed to hurry. Aesthre took a look at how this fight was set. He was at long enough range to be attacked but easily defend himself, and its at a r
DAJ: 19 Mire of Doubt
Aesthre ran off in hurry. He needed to have time alone to think about everything that he had been told. Krimsol had so much to say and too much of it concerned things that related to Aesthre. He had to understand, he was stuck here, and that there was no one to free him, except that waver in Krimsols voice maybe there was a way out. But why had he been put here in the first place, by the one who raised him even? Why did this happen? Had he not known that there was no return from this plane? And the words Krimsol spoke about his master, One soul for sustenance. What did that mean? There was only one place to find out.
Aesthre strode at a good pace on what seemed to be a path. However while Aesthre was thinking it was replaced by a layer of dark water, and him splashing in the water brought his attention back to the world around him. Even the trees changed to tall massive poles that were held above the water by roots making them look like massive hands. Aesthre ke
DAJ: 18 Burning Truth
Aesthre stood and stared at the trinket. But I was told I could call his aid
When he sent you in here he meant for you not to return.
Aesthre paused, thinking for a moment.
If youre done here then lets go back to the castle. The petitioners here attack on sight. Krimsol got back in the flying machine. Aesthre stood and pondered the little amulet in his hands. Had the Spirit really left him here? He had always talked about how he and Arolas would rule together. Had he been lied to?
Well? Krimsols voice brought him away from his thoughts. Aesthre pocketed the amulet and jumped into the vehicle. It took off and sped back towards the castle. Aesthre looked at his left arm, the eye on the back of his hand staring back at him, with its strange pupil.
Am I going to become like one of those fiends Aesthre asked.
Krimsol paused a little. No not quite. Your universe is structure differently than mine was. The two
DAJ: 17 Loss of Hope
All who enter here are bound here. He clarified.
You mean even ?
Yes, Aesthre, you are as well. Aesthre looked down at his arm, with the eye on his hand staring back him almost mockingly. Especially since that you have been cursed by the plague. There were warnings on the other gate and in the entrance way.
So theres no way out of here? Aesthre started to panic.
Only through death a pause or he stopped.
Or what? Aesthre almost yelled.
Nothing there is no way out alive.
Aesthre felt there was more than he was letting on. That there was more to this whole story than he was being told. That everything that had happened since he got here was being controlled by something. That it had all been planned before he got here. How could he trust this man he just met who was telling him that he was damned for eternity in this nightmare of a plane?
There has to be a way
DAJ: 16 Sinner
The room became deathly quiet. Aesthre stood in placing looking at the sad lord. Krimsol took a deep breath and collected himself.
Aesthre, we are blessed with eternal life, but cursed with eternal suffering. My people have become monsters, fiends that have lost their sanity and now eternally destroy each other. But regardless of what they have become they are still my responsibility and I will always act for their good.
There was another long silence. Then Aesthre decided to break the quiet. So youre saying even though youre the one who brought this curse upon your world you still feel the obligation to protect it?
Krimsol looked up at Aesthre. Yes. Its been thousands of years since the Grand Recycling and I have spent that whole time contemplating the reasoning behind all of it. I have gone over every detail and every memory that I have and it all leads to my fault. The god of innovation brought doom to his own people and was cursed to
